Poetical Works of Me

Archive for January 2012

Watching movies about my once upon a time,
I think about the people in the cast,
Now no more than a rhyme,
Gonna make the future into a better past.

So I walk onto the cliffs and shout
‘I’ll keep flying til my luck runs out’

I may have made mistakes,
But so did the kings and gods.
Life exists where a heart aches,
Even for the kings and gods.
So I’ll hold onto my faith,
Not on to the kings and gods.

Your name is just a word to me,
One I’ll always remember well.
I’ve forgotten your third degree,
But also what you made swell.

I see you aren’t on this cliff at all,
But that’s exactly why I won’t fall.

I may have made mistakes,
But so did the kings and gods.
Life exists where a heart aches,
Even for the kings and gods.
So I’ll hold onto my faith,
Not on to the kings and gods.

The sun feels warm on my back,
I can hear the peace in the air.
I see colour in what used to be black,
This smile is something I’ll always wear.

Look into the distance,
Never dreamt of this chance,
Like a wish she grants,
I watch beauty begin to dance.
Life is my new romance.

I may have made mistakes,
But so did the kings and gods.
Life exists where a heart aches,
Even for the kings and gods.
So I’ll hold onto my faith,
Not on to the kings and gods

Walking through the woods I found a heart waiting to belong to me,
So I lay my head on the chest it was encased in, to hear it skip a beat.
My eyes met kindness and love when I looked up to see if I could be right,
The gentlest of arms were wrapped around me, destined to hold me tight.
In the safest of havens I fall asleep and dream of the man I have as a pillow,
We are walking around an old strong minded tree like the wisest willow.
We are under a twilight sky and he’s showing me the stars in a new light.
I wake up to find those arms wrapped around me – gentle but close and tight.

Your eyes meet mine and I see those stars we counted together in deep depths,
Without saying a word I know you hear my song as if it’s all I have left.
